This section of the film works well, with the plight of our protagonist Issac being one that allows us a sympathetic view into what becomes a rather lonely world in which he is viewed as a fraud and a weirdo. I do agree that could have been written a bit different. Proximity is a sci-fi film about alien abduction that is well made, has a good cast and an interesting story - up to the end anyway when what should have been the big finale ends up being a huge disappointment. I think this movie doesn't deserve a 10, but just for the budget alone I am very impressed. Again if you stick it through it speeds right back up.
